Red Bull’s new RB20 was first seen on the circuit during a shakedown at Silverstone. Ahead of its official debut on February 15, the Milton Keynes-based company tested the new car at the site of the British Grand Prix in the hopes of winning the Constructors’ Championship for a record third time.

During the shakedown session, Max Verstappen was given the task of driving the RB20 through its paces. This important stage is intended to thoroughly test every system in the car in a real-world setting for the first time. The news that the car’s livery will be identical to that of the previous year had left some fans upset and according to the video released the car looks the same.

Recently the chief technical officer of Red Bull Adrian Newey broke down the features of RB20 that could be expected in 2024. He said via the Talking Bulls podcast that Challenger would be an evaluation of RB18. Some significant changes would be made to the aerodynamics, weight, and suspension of the car.

Our car, it's very much a third evolution of the 22 car. Last year's car was an evolution of '22 in its main points being of course, the normal winter development in terms of aerodynamics, some understanding of what we needed to do with the suspension to try to improve the car as well, and getting weight out of it, because we never got down to the weight limit in '22.

Red Bull is set to launch their car on 15th February

In line with rivals Mercedes and Alpine, Red Bull Racing has formally announced the start of the Formula 1 2024 season. Just six days before Bahrain’s winter testing season kicks off, on February 15, the reveal is set to take place. This year’s team launches will come to an end with the team’s highly anticipated unveiling of their 2024 contender.

As stated by the team’s chief technical officer, the vehicle will represent the third iteration of the RB-18. Red Bull was going to rule the championship with the vehicle from the previous year, which was an evolution of the RB-18.

Due to the RB19’s incredible performance in 2023—winning all but one of the 22 Grands Prix and assisting Max Verstappen in taking home a commanding third world championship—expectations are high.

Red Bull may choose to present the RB20 car as a show car with a new color scheme rather than an actual vehicle. Following Red Bull’s astounding dominance in 2023, the Austrian team is getting ready to defend the title in 2024.
