World No.1 Novak Djokovic has been the talk of the town for the last couple of months for all the wrong reasons. After being granted medical exemptions to play the Australian Open, Djokovic was stopped at the airport and was deported on arrival. After a 10-day long tussle with the Australian judicial system, Djokovic was forced to leave the country on vaccination grounds.

Recently, in an interview with BBC, Djokovic shares his views regarding the Australian Open debacle and also reinstated that he is ready to miss more tournaments but won’t get vaccinated as of now. He even spoke about not getting enough support from fellow players.

However, Djokovic is currently in Dubai to play the Dubai Tennis Championships starting next week. He arrived in the middle-eastern city a few days back and was also seen practicing under the sun. On Thursday, Djokovic made some time to visit Dubai’s Expo 2020 with his wife, Jelena Djokovic.

Entering the tournament as the top seed, Djokovic will once again be the favorite to win his record 6th title at Dubai. This will be his first tournament of the year and also his first tournament in almost 4 months. This could also be his last tournament before the clay-court season begins as Indian Wells Masters and Miami Masters have also made strict vaccination rules.

As of now, Djokovic is likely to play a couple of clay-court tournaments after Dubai- Belgrade and Rome Masters. However, the Serbian maestro is likely to miss the French Open because of France’s strict vaccination rules.
