This weekend at Luke Combs concert in Santa Clara, two NFL stars made a special surprise appearance– George Kittle and Brock Purdy. Combs is the third biggest star to have his concert at the grand Levi Stadium, which is also the home stadium of the San Francisco 49ers.

Midst the preparation for the upcoming 2024 season where the 49ers have high hopes in quarterback Purdy to bring the Vince Lombardi trophy home, the quarterback-tight end duo seem to be having a blast enjoying the Country music at Combs’ concert, last Saturday.

For those unfamiliar, there’s a tradition at the country music star’s concerts of shotgunning beer. And midway through the concert, as the 49ers star TE made his way up on the stage, he chugged a beer with Combs to honor the famous tradition. As Purdy wasn’t seen drinking, he took the most important job– passing the Bud Lights to his buddies.

As Kittle finished his first can, the 49ers’ star quarterback tossed him two more beers and the former recreated the iconic “Stone Cold” Steve Austin celebration moment, where he smashed two cans of beer on his head before hurling them onto the ground.

Brock Purdy poised for a lucrative extension

When QB Purdy entered the NFL, he hardly made any headlines or impressed fans except for gaining the Mr. Irrelevant title for being drafted in the last round. It wasn’t until Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo got injured and the Niners had no other option than to start a game with Purdy, that he rose to fame.

Leading the team to the NFC championship in his rookie year and to the Super Bowl in his second year, Purdy has surely become the biggest draft steal in the history of the NFL, after GOAT Tom Brady

With that being said and his extension eligibility for the 2025 season, the quarterback is set to attract a huge extension as the 49ers say. As the franchise has expressed its willingness to pay Purdy whichever number he asks.
