Neeraj Chopra scripted history on the penultimate day of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as he bagged India’s first Track and Field event Gold by winning the Gold in Men’s Javelin Throw. The 23-year old was confirmed the Gold medallist even before he took his 3rd attempt as his second attempt reached 87.58m at the Olympic stadium in Tokyo.

While he was going for the Gold, many Indians were in a dilemma as the Indian Cricket team is also currently playing their 1st of the 5-test match series against England in Nottingham. As the viewers switched channels between the two matches, celebrations began as Chopra bagged the Gold ending India’s wait for 13 years for an Olympic Gold.

As many Indians took to the streets in celebrations, legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar who is currently in the commentary team for the ongoing India vs England test series also joined the celebrations with fellow Indians in the studios and broke into a celebratory dance singing the famous Indian song, “Mere Desh ki Dharti Sona Ugle“.
