This year’s WrestleMania promises to be bigger than ever, with some of the world’s biggest stars set to wrestle in Las Vegas. The tension between Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins continues to grow. Although their rivalry doesn’t involve a title, it remains just as important to wrestling fans. Weeks of bad blood led to a massive brawl on SmackDown.

On the latest episode of SmackDown, all three men were set to appear together. Fans expected chaos, and they got it! Roman Reigns arrived first with his wise man, Paul Heyman, receiving a loud reaction from the Italian crowd. Rollins soon interrupted and delivered a personal promo aimed at his former Shield brother. Finally, ‘The Best in the World’ arrived, reminding Heyman of the favor he still owed him.

However, CM Punk wasnโ€™t there to talkโ€”he started the brawl by attacking the OTC. The crowd loved the chaos, even chanting, “Let them fight.” The fight didnโ€™t stop when the show ended, as unseen footage on social media showed the three still battling in the arena. This rivalry stands out because neither side is a clear hero or villain, but their hatred for each other never fades.

Recently, The Architect explained why this match deserves to be the main event of WrestleMania 41. He said that even if it isnโ€™t officially the main event, the names involved make it feel like one. Soon, the WWE Universe will find out who wins.

Roman Reigns could create a new record for the WrestleMania main event

‘The Original Tribal Chief’ has already proven himself as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. His WrestleMania record is impressiveโ€”he main-evented four years in a row. This year, he is on track to main event another WrestleMania against Punk and Seth Rollins. If that happens, the former WWE Champion will add another record to his legacy.

Reigns has surpassed the legendary Hulk Hogan for the most WrestleMania main events in WWE history. The 39-year-old veteran has already main-evented a total of nine WrestleManias. At WrestleMania 41, he competed in a tag team match on Night One alongside The Rock against Cody Rhodes and Rollins. On Night Two, he faced ‘The American Nightmare’ again but lost the match.

This match could land CM Punk in the very first WrestleMania main event of his career

On the other hand, ‘The Best in the World’ could compete in his first-ever WrestleMania main event. Itโ€™s surprising that Punk has never headlined the biggest show of the year. However, since his emphatic return at Survivor Series: WarGames, his chances of main-eventing WrestleMania have been steadily rising.

The Second City Saint pitched an idea to main event WrestleMania 29, but Vince McMahon rejected it. Punk certainly deserved the spotlight after an excellent year. However, following his fallout with WWE in 2014, the former WWE Champion stayed away from the company for a decade.

Punk had an excellent 2024, highlighted by his rivalry of the year with Drew McIntyre and several outstanding matches. He was a strong candidate to face Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title at the Showcase of the Immortals but was unfortunately injured during the Royal Rumble match. Whether Punk will win in his first WrestleMania in 10 years remains to be seen.
