The Brooklyn Nets faced the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. They had to taste the defeat as the Clippers won the game with a four-point difference that marked 120-1116 on the final board. The team was playing well until the second quarter hit the game and the Brooklyn Nets started to take it for granted.
The game took place as per the local time of the United States at the Barclays Centre. The Nets were on to their home game after they lost one to the 76ers in their last battle, while the Clippers had a win in their last game against the Toronto Raptors pushing them forward to a game against the Nets itself.

The Brooklyn nets stand at the second position on the Eastern Conference roster while the Los Angeles Clippers is positioned at the sixth spot in the Western Conference roster. The Nets have won over 23 games and lost over 10 games in a total of 33 games they’ve played this season. While the Los Angeles Clippers have won only 18 games and lost the same amount of them with a total of 36 games played into this season.
Head Coach of the Nets, Steve Nash is very upset of the fact that his team took the Clippers for granted
Coach Steve Nash in response to the Nets game against the Clippers thought in the first place that his team “never really had the care factor or turned it up” against a weak opponent that simply ignored the play in the second half. Their ignorance cost the team heavily as they simply allowed 71 points in the second quarter that further built their bridge to the victory.
Talking into the same matter Steve Nash said, “I just think giving up 71 points in the second half is unacceptable. We just never really had the care factor. Turned it up, we had a chance up nine, 10, 11 in the third and fourth at different times and just took our foot off the gas and got what we deserved, really. All those guys in there, I think they know it, they’re disappointed of course, but it’s a disappointment for all of us that was obviously a very winnable game that we let get away.”
Kevin Durant was also upset with the team’s performance. He appeared in a post-game interview and was seen bagging the burden in his shoulders. When asked for opinion on the same matter, Kevin said “Hopefully a loss like this, it’s in your brain until Sunday”. Go out there and understand what your job is as an individual and how you can be the best at that job and how you can bring it to the collective. It’s always about the collective. So if you ain’t feeling like s— after this game, then you got to look yourself in the mirror.”
Though it was not the kind of defeat the Nets would have wanted, but as the players appeared in the post-game interview it definitely hints that this would never be repeated again.
