Christian Horner’s Red Bull has been a dominating team even with the second fastest car on the track. Most of it goes to Max Verstappen consistently performing in his top form. Max has won 8 out of 13 races this season and has proved his worth as a one-time world champion. Sergio Perez on the other hand looked in a way better situation with the car at the start of the season, competing for head-to-head with his teammate and Ferrari’s championship contention Charles Leclerc.

Max Verstappen is leading the championship with quite some margin. He was struggling at the start of the season with reliability issues but came out with the best version of himself. Winning the most unpredictable races and ultimately getting over the threshold of a championship-winning situation. Verstappen is currently relaxed with a lead that won’t be hindered if he goes for a leave in the next three races.

Christian Horner explains the situation as a team’s most beneficial call to earn maximum points, ” The team will do its best to maximize every result and every opportunity that will arise,” he said.

Horner appreciated Max’s lead but also kept their guard up for the upcoming races, “Max is in a strong position in the drivers’ championship, but we have seen how quickly things can change. We take nothing for granted. There are still many races to go, not to mention a Sprint. We will treat every weekend as we have done so far this year and we will try to maximize our points compared to our competitors,” Horner said.

Sergio Perez won Monaco after defeating both the Ferrari and his teammate. He looked strong in Spain and had a chance to win the Catalunya but got under the team’s orders losing his most deserved win. He again led Baku but had to give up the position to Max.

Hungary was another situation when he had a chance to take away the lead after Verstappen’s spin and Charles struggling with Hard tyres but had to play a defending game for his teammate.

Horner opens up with the bad luck Sergio has to encounter in the last few weeks, “I think he was unfortunate in some circumstances, such as the gearbox problem suffered in Canada – he replied – also. in Austria, it was frustrating, he lost a lot of points there, but I’m sure he’ll be able to recover. I have no doubt about this,” said Christian.

Currently, Max is leading the championship with 80 points to Charles and 85 points to Sergio Perez with more than 9 races upcoming.
