There is no other fighter in the world who is more jealous to see Justin Gaethje fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov than, Tony Ferguson. The fight between ‘El Cucuy’ and ‘The Eagle’ is considered one of the most cursed fights in UFC history as it has been already canceled 5 times. Tony was training to face Khabib for almost 6 months, the date was fixed, and this fight was a done deal.

But due to COVID-19 imposed lockdown, Khabib can’t reach there to fight Tony and that’s where Gaethje rose to the occasion. He stepped in to fill in Khabib’s shoes and rose to the occasion too and defeated Tony Ferguson which rewarded him with the interim championship belt and the chance to face Khabib at UFC 254 main event.

Tony Ferguson, however, is very eager to return to the Octagon and he is also keeping his weight in control for a potential fight in December. Tony is being matched up against the Bellator MMA sensation Michael Chandler but for this fight, he wants to renegotiate his terms, as he doesn’t like UFC paying Chandler more than him.

He says, “Michael Chandler hasn’t earned his way to the top, But if that’s who Dana White wants me to fight, you know me: I put my boots on, and I go to work. When it came to COVID, I made weight, and I went to work. There was a point, 72 hours, it was myself, Dana, Sean Shelby and my wife, just trying to make that s— happen. If I hadn’t taken that fight, how many people would not have gotten paid?“

“Do I want to fight? Yes. I want to fight in December. I’m f—ing training. Let’s go. But I don’t think somebody who doesn’t even belong here should be paid more than me. That’s what I’m saying.”

The flame to fight Khabib still burning inside Tony

It is very obvious that the ‘El Cucuy’ is having a burning desire inside himself to fight Khabib. He says for this, “I see fear in his voice if he thinks he has to talk bad about people, He can’t put that s— in my head. I will fight Khabib at one point or another. He will see me before he retires. We’ll make that a point.“

“I think everybody is writing me off after one loss, and f— them. The casual fan base is trying to, but my hard-core fans are too much. They know too much. My value is way too much.”

This is very obvious that after Gaethje and Khabib settle the title unification match in Octagon; Tony wants his match back with Khabib.
