Despite being a SmackDown superstar himself, Cody Rhodes often appears on his old brand, Raw, for cross-brand feuds or for dark matches after the show goes off the air. He was even seen backstage on the latest episode of Raw. Furthermore, successfully retained his WWE Undisputed Championship in a dark match against Carmelo Hayes. However, what was most memorable was what happened after this match.
Rhodes called over a young fan into the ring after his match against Carmelo Hayes. The boy was dressed up just like the WWE Undisputed Champion himself. He even donned a mask, which the 39-year-old wore during his entrance at WrestleMania XL. He signed his belt, handed it over to the audience member, and gave him a hug.
The American Nightmare then hoisted the boy up on his shoulder as they both waved to the crowd. The fan shook his hand before exiting the ring. Shortly after this, Cody Rhodes got on the microphone and told the audience that he had a special surprise planned for Saturday Night’s Main Event when he defended his WWE Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens.

Rhodes is well-known for interacting with his fans, even staying back for long periods of time after shows just to click photos and sign items. He is often seen sharing wholesome moments with young fans, which makes the WWE Universe appreciate him tremendously.

Bad Blood saw the highly unlikely alliance of Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, who had teamed up to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. This decision was not taken well by a lot of WWE superstars. In fact, it even dragged The Rock out of his absence from WWE. As Kevin Owens recently explained, this was the main reason that he turned on his long-time friend. However, not everyone has reprimanded the WWE Undisputed Champion for his choice.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Thunder Rosa defended Rhodes’ decision to team up with Roman Reigns. She said that people at all jobs must team up with people that they don’t like. This was also true for wrestling. Keeping one hate’s aside for certain individuals will allow them to unlock opportunities they did not previously have.
In the case of Cody Rhodes, he had to do what he had to do as the golden boy. He had no choice but to work with certain people.
