The ATP Finals have already begun which saw top players, including Jannik Sinner kick off their campaigns. The tournament in Inalpi Arena runs from November 10 to November 17 in Turin, Italy.
Sinner, one of the heavy favorites, is the top seed and is a part of Ilie Nastase Group. The group also has Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur. Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud, and Andrey Rublev are part of John Newcombe Group.
Among these players, only Zverev and Medvedev are the former champions. Zverev has won the year-end event twice, in 2018 and 2021. The German is also the only player this season to have won the ATP Finals multiple times. Medvedev lifted the title in 2020.
Sinner has progressed to the final once. Last year, he advanced to the ATP Finals decider but couldn’t defeat Novak Djokovic. This season, the defending champion is not participating in the event as an injury forced him to withdraw from it. Alcaraz, the winner of four Grand Slam titles, is yet to reach the final.
Djokovic is the tournament’s most successful player in the history of the ATP Finals, winning the title seven times (2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2022, 2023).
