LeBron James has cemented his legacy as an NBA icon and LA Lakers superstar. However, nearly two decades ago, the 6’9″ athlete was just a fan sitting front row at Monday Night Raw. During the show, he was seen recording the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin.

At just 18 years old, James was simply a passionate fan, sitting front row with a flip phone in hand. He was seen capturing moments with WWE Superstars, including the iconic Steve Austin. The footage comes from a 2003 episode of Raw, a time when the Texas Rattlesnake was nearing the end of his career, raising hell as only he could.

A few years ago, Steve Austin reflected on this rare moment, acknowledging how surreal it was to see the now-NBA legend sitting in the front row at Raw. He described James as someone genuinely immersed in the action, enjoying every second of it. On that same night, James also had the opportunity to interact with several WWE stars backstage, including Goldberg.

To this day, Austin remains one of WWE’s top merchandise sellers, solidifying his status as a one-of-a-kind legend.

Stone Cold Steve Austin hoping to be present for WrestleMania 41

Stone Cold Steve Austin was widely expected to appear at WrestleMania XL. However, when he couldn’t make it, The Undertaker stepped in as a last-minute replacement. While the WWE Hall of Famer missed last year’s event, he is hopeful about making his presence felt at WrestleMania 41.

In an interview on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, Stone Cold Steve Austin revealed that he wanted to be at WrestleMania XL but couldn’t make it due to personal reasons. However, with an upcoming interview in Las Vegas—just 400 miles from Allegiant Stadium—Austin remains optimistic about making an appearance at The Grandest Stage of Them All this year.

And I was doing an interview a while back and I said, ‘Hey man’ — and that’s 400 miles. That’s like right here, where we’re sitting. … But anyway, it’ll be in Vegas, so I hope to be there this year.

The former WWE Champion last appeared at WrestleMania in 2022, where he headlined the event in Texas against Kevin Owens. Given his impressive physical condition, fans had hoped to see him compete in more matches. While it’s uncertain if he will wrestle again, even a brief appearance would be enough to electrify the WWE Universe.
