UFC Bantamweight Frankie Edgar had a night to forget, at the recently concluded UFC Fight Night. He was knocked out cold, by a flying knee from Cory Sandhagen, in the co-main event.

But I couldn’t remember who the f**k I fought. I’m like ‘who did I fight? I’m trying to remember training for the guy and I could not remember training for him. Since when was I supposed to fight him? I thought maybe I just took this fight on short notice or something,” Edgar recently revealed in an interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN of the trauma he underwent after the fight.

Speaking about this in an interview with RT Sport, retired UFC Lightweight and consensus GOAT Khabib Nurmagomedov felt that people like Frankie Edgar shouldn’t be risking their lives, competing at ‘such an age’ (Edgar is 39). He summed it up saying, one should stop, when the game gets ahead of them.

This game can be a cruel b*tch and Saturday night was just that, but I ain’t panicked. I’ve been here before“, Edgar said on social media. He also revealed that he was far from being done in his interview with Brett Okamoto.

However, a concerned Khabib felt otherwise. He said, (Translated to English) “I wouldn’t like to see my friends get knocked out like that, It’s not right to compete at that weight class at his age. There must be some close ones around to tell him it’s enough. Yes, we all want to earn money, but there are some more ways to do it. Your age doesn’t care about your name. When the game gets ahead of you, you should just stop.”

What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree with Khabib Nurmagomedov? Is Frankie Edgar putting his life at stake?
