It has been an inconsistent 2025-26 campaign for Jimmy Butler and the Golden State Warriors. They are in the middle of a three-game road trip and have gone 1-1 in their first two games. After a tough overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors on the first night of a back-to-back, the Warriors picked up an important road win as they recorded a convincing 120-107 victory over the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Monday night.
A much-needed and impressive win for the Warriors as the young Nets team was coming into the game with four wins out of their previous five games. It was just their seventh win in 19 games on the road, highlighting their struggles away from home court.
The win over the Nets propelled the Warriors to 17-16 as they are currently placed at eighth in the Western Conference standings. They are 2.5 games behind the Phoenix Suns who are in the midst of a four-match winning streak. The Suns’ rise, paired with the Warriors’ struggles, many pundits believe that the Warriors may struggle to make it to the postseason. The loss dropped the Nets to 13th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 10-20 record.
Tensions were high throughout the game, and the Warriors’ star Jimmy Butler loves a fight. There was a heated on-court exchange between Butler and rookie Danny Wolf after an and-one basket.

The Warriors appear to have run into some rhythm after winning four of their last five games. The core trio of Stephen Curry, Butler and Draymond Green are all in the backend of their careers and are not getting any younger. Hence, the club will be hoping that their stars stay injury-free and continue the momentum as they look to finish in the top-6 in the standings.

Love how Pat Spencer laughs off “white boy”. If it was reversed, we’d have a summer of protests against racism

Draymond Green on viral spat with 89-year-old Nets super fan
There can be no heated exchanges and encounters without mentioning Green. The former Defensive Player of the Year was in the spotlight recently after his recent fiery exchange with head coach Steve Kerr during a timeout before storming into the tunnel when they faced the Orlando Magic. Things have calmed down since as Green has featured in their last three games.

The Warriors star grabbed attention on Monday night once again as he was engaged in a heated exchange with Nets superfan Mr Whammy during the game. After the game, Green spoke about the incident in his postgame locker-room interview.
I told him to sit his old a** down somewhere, man. Can’t be distracting me on my free throws. That was fun. I had a lot of fun tonight.

It appears that there is no lingering tension between the two after the game, and Green was in high spirits following the win as they head to Charlotte for their next game on the road.
