The Boston Celtics have pulled down the curtains on the Atlanta Hawks‘ season after a hard-fought battle. Many expected Boston to win the series with a clean sweep, but Trae Young had different plans. He and the Hawks pulled off a surprise win in Game 5 in Boston and extended the series to a Game 6 at home. But the Jayson Tatum-led Boston Celtics were ready to avenge their surprise Game 5 loss and that’s exactly what they did.

The Celtics have now finally advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals after winning their first-round playoffs series 4-2 against the Hawks. The Game 6 between the team was closely contested and head-to-head and many even believed the series could extend to Game 7. But the Celtics didn’t let that belief slide as they stifled the Hawks’ offense in the fourth quarter and outscored them by 10 points to win the game 128-120.

As Jayson Tatum (30 points, 7 assists, and 14 rebounds) and Marcus Smart (32 points, 2 assists, and 5 rebounds) combined to finish the series in Atlanta. While Marcus Smart backed them up dropping 22 points. Their heroics in the final minutes got the job done and now they’ll face the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
