Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar‘s son Arjun Tendulkar is back in the news. However, this time around it is not regarding a cricket career update but a major development in his personal life. The cricketer who represents Goa reportedly got engaged to Saaniya Chandok in a private ceremony. The function was only attended by close friends and family from both sides.

Saaniya Chandok is the granddaughter of the famous hospitality and food industries businessman Ravi Ghai. The Ghai family owns the InterContinental Hotel Group. The IHG which is a publicly listed multinational company has been valued at 18.43 Billion dollars as per recent reports.

The family also famously owns the Brooklyn Creamery under its food industry banner. It is a part of the parent company Graviss Food which was valued at 624 Crores in the FY 2023-24.

Chandok herself studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School before she completed her education in business management at the London school of Economics in 2020. Continuing the business traditions of the family, Chandok now is the proud owner of Mr. Paws – a pet spa and salon in Mumbai.

Her business offers grooming services for dogs and cuts. It provides services like haircuts, massages, and specialized treatments like Korean Microbubbles therapy and CO2 Japanese hydrotherapy. Her company has an authorized capital of 1 lakh rupees and is a small venture amidst the grandeur of her family.

Saaniya Chandok who hails from a business family will enter a cricket laden family of the Tendulkars. Her fiancee Arjun Tendulkar is a 25-year-old left arm fast bowling all-rounder. Tendulkar who is currently playing domestic cricket for Goa, decided to step away from Mumbai cricket owing to the cut throat competition that exists over there.

However, he does represent the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and has featured in five IPL games so far. In his five matches he has been able to take only 3 wickets at an ordinary average of 38 and an economy of 9.37.

Tendulkar just like his father Sachin Tendulkar famously hit a hundred on his debut in domestic cricket and now regularly plays for his state without many inconsistencies. Sachin had hit a hundred (100*) against Gujarat at the tender age of just 15 back in 1988.

Son Arjun followed suit as he scored 120 in 207 balls against Rajasthan. To add to that in 17 first class matches he has taken 37 wickets with best bowling figures of 5/25. His List A numbers with the ball are decent too. In 15 matches he has scalped 21 wickets.

With the domestic season due in October, Tendulkar would like to take big steps to make a strong case for himself regarding the highest level in the sport. Currently it’s a celebration time for the family and Tendulkar would be preparing himself for the next big chapter of his personal life.
