Why Jey Uso joined forces with Roman Reigns
Jey Uso with Roman Reigns
On the WWE Smackdown episode that aired on 30th October, Jey Uso finally teamed up with his cousin Roman Reigns. Uso had lost to The Tribal Chief in an I Quit match at Hell in a Cell. As a consequence of the match, Uso had to accept Reigns as the head of the table, or leave the family forever. On the Smackdown episode Uso accepted his defeat and also agreed Reigns to be the head of the table.
This happened right after Uso’s qualifier match against Daniel Bryan. Uso emerged victorious in the match and qualified for Team Smackdown at Survivor Series. Right after accepting Reigns as the head, the first order he received was to attack Bryan. Uso followed the orders and viciously attacked Bryan. The assault continued that night even after Smackdown went off-air.
Uso, in an interview with WWE’s Kayla Braxton explained his actions and even apologized for the attack. The interview is available on WWE’s official Instagram handle.
Jey Uso apologizes to Daniel Bryan
“So, my actions last week … man, I’m sorry, Daniel Bryan. I’m sorry to his family. I’m also sorry to my family. Daniel Bryan was really, really at the wrong place at the wrong time, for real. It could’ve been anybody.”
Incidentally, this wasn’t the only time that Usi had been ordered by the Universal Champion to attack someone. Even during the Smackdown episode, that followed attack on Bryan, Uso was ordered to attack Kevin Owens. These attacks indicate that Jey Uso has gone completely Heel just like his Champion cousin. It is also evident that Uso will stop at nothing to prove his loyalty to The Big Dog.
During the Instagram interview, Uso was also asked about his twin Jimmy’s take on the Heel turn. But Jey surprised the fans with his response. He said that he has not been in touch with his twin since he sided with Reigns.
Jimmy Uso is currently nursing an injury and hence not seen much on WWE TV. He is expected to return early next year. It would be interesting to see whether he joins the stable of his family or tries to go against them.
