On the latest episode of SmackDown, Roman Reigns addressed the current state of affairs in The Bloodline saga. Flanked by Jimmy Uso inside the ring, Reigns admitted that he no longer holds the power that he used to. Hence, he needed to get back his Ula Fala and his position as The Tribal Chief from the leader of The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa.

In response, Jimmy suggested that they should ask for help from a certain somebody. Obviously, he was referring to his twin brother, Jey Uso, who left Reigns last year. However, the latter flat-out denied it. Hours later, The Bloodline gave a reality check to Reigns when they laid a 4-on-2 beatdown on him and Jimmy.

So, why did The OTC refuse to even consider asking Jey to join his side? Although the former Undisputed WWE Champion didn’t provide an explanation, here are three possible reasons behind his decision:

Roman Reigns’ insecurity got the better of him on SmackDown

Since leaving The Bloodline, Jey Uso has lit his singles career on fire on Monday Night Raw. Living up to his ‘Main Event’ moniker, Jey is one of the top “dawgs” on the red brand. This might’ve not sat well with Roman Reigns, who is facing the consequences of losing his Undisputed Title at WrestleMania. While Reigns suffered a ‘downfall’ in the absence of Jey, the latter won his first singles championship.

Therefore, The OTC could be jealous of his cousin’s successful journey over the past year. Moreover, he might resent The YEET Master for being the only member of the family currently holding a title. Of course, Reigns’ pride won’t allow him to admit that, but it could very well be one of the major reasons why he does not want to approach Jey for help.

Roman Reigns is still angry at Jey Uso for betraying him

If there’s one thing that fans have learned about Roman Reigns is that he doesn’t easily move on from past grievances. This was made clear at WrestleMania when Reigns’ emotions got the better of him. Instead of pulling the trigger on Cody Rhodes, Reigns hit Seth Rollins with a steel chair and proved that he hadn’t forgiven him for the breakup of The Shield. The OTC might feel the same way about Jey Uso.

Although the circumstances of Jey leaving him were different, Reigns might still feel betrayed by his cousin. Moreover, the YEET Master had helped his enemy dethrone him for the Undisputed Title. As a result, the 39-year-old might’ve not forgiven the Intercontinental Champion for what has transpired in the past year or so.

Roman Reigns wants to protect Jey Uso from getting involved again in Bloodline business

Maybe Roman Reigns has indeed forgotten about his past issues with Jey Uso. Seeing his cousin’s meteoric rise to success might’ve made Reigns realize he was holding him back. Despite their differences, The Head of the Table had planned on passing on the mantle to Jey before the latter’s departure. As such, Reigns probably feels that bringing him back would derail his ongoing run on Raw.

The former Undisputed Champion might be protecting Jey from the wrath of Solo Sikoa‘s Bloodline on SmackDown. If Uso does join his side, it could potentially lead to the faction costing him the Intercontinental Championship down the line. Regardless of Reigns’ opinion, he will soon have to change his “No YEET!” to “YEET!”,  especially after getting brutalized by his former faction on Friday.
