UFC 304 featured some major events, even though the fight card did not meet expectations. The fight card was a snooze fest, with 9/14 bouts ending with a decision. However, it was compensated by the bad blood and altercation between fighters throughout the fight week. Adding to the drama, a new video has surfaced involving Michael ‘Venom’ Page and UFC bantamweight Farid Basharat. 

In the viral video outside the fighter’s hotel in Manchester, Michael Page and Farid Basharat can be seen having an altercation. Both were aggressive towards each other, with others around stopping them from escalating. Former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski was also there and tried to stop Basharat with a double leg to prevent further confrontation.

Despite Volkanovski’s best attempts, the bantamweight slipped by the former pound-for-pound king and left another security guard on the ground. Eventually, the problem was resolved, and Basharat exited the building. The UFC has yet to release a statement or confirm the identities of the men engaged in the altercation.

Being an Englishman, Michael Page was at UFC 304 to be part of the pay-per-view in the UK. The welterweight fighter also answered some fan questions during the media interactions. The video has since been seen by many fight fans who are now trying to figure out what led to the altercation. Fortunately, Farid Basharat himself has an answer for that.

Farid Basharat shares his side of the story regarding the altercation with Michael ‘Venom’ Page 

Farid Basharat came into UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series. The Afghan-born English fighter also has a brother named Javid, who is also a UFC bantamweight fighter. It is the first time in UFC history that two brothers are fighting in the same division. Basharat is currently undefeated and has won four of his UFC bouts with ease.

However, Farid Basharat starting a fight with a much heavier Michael Page was surely an interesting incident. While talking about it, Basharat took to X and shared his side of the story. According to the bantamweight fighter, the ‘fake nice guy’ MVP started the altercation. 

I’ve never been one to look for a fight but if somebody starts it I will never shy away. He swung first and then backed away. Coward and a fake nice guy. But it’s cool.. I know how to deal with bullies. See you around.

Page recently suffered his first UFC loss against Ian Garry at UFC 303. Even after the loss, the former Bellator fighter was annoyed towards the Irishman and refused to acknowledge his skills. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see where this rivalry between MVP and Farid Basharat goes in the future.
