The Green Bay Packers seem to have hit a major bump on the road as their star quarterback Jordan Love has fallen due to an injury. This leads to the major question that everyone’s been wondering: Will he play this week against the Tennessee Titans?
In the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, Love hurt his left knee which later was revealed to be a sprained MCL. He was expected to miss multiple weeks of this season in recovery but the good news for the fans is he is likely to return in week 3. In his absence, backup Malik Willis started against the Indianapolis Colts and succeeded with a 16-10 victory.
A source close to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday revealed that Love’s condition is much better and there’s a “realistic chance” for him to return this week 3 but if not, then he’ll most likely return for week 4’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays this week. It’s definitely day-by-day like he said, and 50-50 at best right now.The source stated
However, there still is a 50% chance that the signal-caller wouldn’t be seen on the football field in the road game against the divisional rival. Until Love is confirmed, backup Willis will be named as the starter of week 3 against the Titans– his former team who traded him to the Packers for a seventh-round pick.
Jordan Love returns to practice with limited participation
The good news for now is that Love returned to practice on Wednesday even though with limited participation. It was his first practice session since his injury and he participated in team warmups and individual drills where he threw passes to his teammates. While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Love shared how the medical clearance is most important for his return.
The trainers are seeing everything I'm doing and they're not gonna put me out there unless they feel confident that I can protect myself. But at the same time, that's why it's good to get some practice reps in and get that feel of what it's like again.Jordan Love said
At his limited practice on Wednesday, Love reportedly wore a protective brace with a sleeve, covering his entire leg. The quarterback is doing the best he can for a speedy and full recovery to join his team, however, it is yet to be revealed if he is participating in selective drills or all drills under the rep count.
