Jannik Sinner created a buzz at the Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after making a lighthearted comment during his press conference. His comment was responded to by Hollywood star Will Smith on social media, which has gotten attention in the tennis community.

Sinner arrived at the Six Kings Slam at back of an unfortunate retirement at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. The Italian star retired during his third-round clash against Tallon Griekspoor after struggling with cramps. However, in Riyadh, he looked aggressive and excellent on the court as he needed just an hour and sixteen minutes to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas.

He secured a 6-2, 6-3 victory against the Greek star and earned his place in the semi-finals of the event. The 24-year-old faced Novak Djokovic on Thursday (October 16) and displayed another excellent performance, beating the Serbian legend 6-4, 6-2 to reach the final of the exhibition tournament for the second consecutive year.

He will now face Carlos Alcaraz in the final on Saturday (October 18) as both players will compete for the lucrative prize money ($6 million). Their meeting marks the seventh consecutive final clash between Alcaraz and Sinner and the sixth time this year, including three Grand Slam final clashes.

Nonetheless, during the media session of the tournament, Sinner was asked some amusing questions. In one of the questions, he was asked about casting choices and which Hollywood actor he believes would love to play him in a movie. Sinner responded: “Let’s go with Will Smith. Why not? Different but good!”

The story was reported by Bleacher Report on Instagram and that caught the attention of Will Smith. The Hollywood veteran actor then posted in his Instagram story an edited image where he’s photographed lifting the Wimbledon Championship title like Sinner did at this year’s edition together with the Bleacher Report story. He then added:

I’M IN!!!!!

Sinner will hope to feature in a movie with the Hollywood actor, but he will be eagerly looking forward to beating Alcaraz before that. The Italian star has struggled against the Spaniard on tour for the past two seasons and has just won one of their last six encounters. Should he win the clash, it will not count because the Six Kings Slam is an exhibition tournament.

Stefanos Tsitsipas excited with the unique dynamism Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz bring to the sport

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are regarded as the two dominant stars in the men’s circuit. They have been dubbed to follow the footsteps of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on tour. For the past two seasons, they have been the only players winning Grand Slams. In fact, this year, they met in three consecutive Grand Slam finals. Alcaraz won two of the final matches, while Sinner won just one.

During an interview with Tennis365, Stefanos Tsitsipas admitted that he admired the unique styles of Sinner and Alcaraz on tour. The Greek star added that both players create an interesting dynamic in men’s tennis:

You know, Alcaraz is a more dynamic, more happy man when he plays, being much more creative. And Sinner is much more robotic, much more consistent, much more… let’s say determined and focused type of player, which creates those interesting dynamics in our game. I personally admire both of them and the way they decide to execute the game.

After the Six Kings Slam, Alcaraz and Sinner are expected to compete in the Paris Masters. The tournament is the last ATP 1000 Masters event of the season. Neither Alcaraz nor Sinner has won the title in their careers; they will be looking forward to breaking the curse ahead of the ATP Finals in Turin.
