Diggins-Smith has earned a salary of $227,900 in the 2022-23 season with a similar cap hit value. For the 2023-24 season, the Mercury guard will earn $234,350 with a similar dead cap and cap hit value.

Connecticut Sun’s guard-forward Dewanna Bonner is also earning a considerable fortune in the league. Her four-year $899,480 contract signed with the Phoenix Mercury in February 2020 will see her bag $234,350 for the coming season. 

The contract came with $899,480 guaranteed at signing, with an average salary of $224,870 annually. In the 2022-23 season, Bonner earned a base salary of $227,900 with a dead cap and cap hit value of $227,900.

3. Jewell Loyd

Seattle Storm’s guard Jewell Loyd earns an annual average salary of $231,515, according to her current WNBA contract. Signed in February 2022, the two-year deal worth $463,030 came with $463,030 guaranteed at signing. 

For the 2022-23 season, Loyd has bagged a base salary of $228,094 with a similar cap hit value. The Storm guard will earn $234,936 in the 2023-24 season with a dead cap and cap hit value of $234,936, making her one of the highest-paid players in the league. 

2. Diana Taurasi

Phoenix Mercury’s guard Diana Taurasi is also one of the highest-earning athletes in the league. Her two-year contract worth $469,872, signed with the Mercury in February 2023, will see Taurasi earn an average salary of $234,936 annually. 

For the 2022-23 season, the Mercury guard earned an average salary of $224,772. With a guaranteed $469,872 for her new deal, Taurasi will earn a base salary of $234,936 for the coming season with a similar cap hit value.

Dallas Wings’ versatile guard Arike Ogunbowale is the highest-paid WNBA player in 2023. According to her new three-year contract extension worth $725,952, signed in February 2022, Ogunbowale will earn an average salary of $241,984 annually. 

In the coming 2023-24 season, Arike Ogunbowale will earn a base salary of $234,936 with a cap hit of $234,936. Her annual salary is over four times as much as her previous four-year contract, worth $220,235, which had an annual average salary of $55,059. The new season will see Arike Ogunbowale become the highest-paid WNBA player.
