2022 World Cup Qualifiers: Romania vs Liechtenstein Live Stream, Preview and Prediction
Romania vs Liechtenstein: A clash between the national teams of Romania and Liechtenstein will take place in Group J as part of the World Cup qualifying group stage. The game will take place at Bucharest’s National Stadium.
Romania vs Liechtenstein: Preview
Romania started the qualifying campaign with a 3-2 victory over North Macedonia, but losses to Germany and Armenia threatened to ruin their ambitions of reaching Qatar. Mirel Radoi’s men got back on track on Thursday night, defeating Georgia and England in friendlies. Goals from Dennis Man and Nicolae Stanciu sealed a 2-0 win away in Iceland in their fourth match, which was their first clean sheet in seven matches. The Tricolours will seek to capitalise on their recent success, since they have not qualified for the World Cup since 1998. Mirel Radoi’s side have six points from four games in Group J, trailing North Macedonia in fourth by just one.
Liechtenstein on the other hand, have lost all the matches in the tournament. A 0-2 setback to Germany on Thursday was mild in comparison to Liechtenstein’s other defeats this year, which included 0-5 defeats to North Macedonia, 0-7 defeats to Switzerland, and 1-5 defeats to the Faroe Islands. Martin Stocklasa went with a back five against Germany after Liechtenstein allowed 12 goals in two friendly in June with a four-man defence, and he should do so again in Bucharest since they looked much more solid. The Blue-Reds are now winless in 10 matches overall. Therefore, it is no surprise that Stocklasa’s men are placed last in the group with 0 points.
