Iga Swiatek is at the peak of her career. She has won both the French Open and US Open this year with a splendid performance at the Australian Open. She has also won 8 WTA singles titles this year.

The Polish star also became the World No.1 for the first time this year, at the WTA rankings, at the Miami Open, and has stayed at the top since then. She has played like a champion all this while and has entered her 30th week in that position.

The 21-year-old is on road to achieving greatness as she will become the 4th women’s tennis player in the history of the game to spend at the top of the leaders’ board for a total of 30 weeks straight without any break.

She will be counted among great women tennis players of the past such as Martina Hingis, Steffi Graf, and Serena Williams. Martina Hingis, at the age of 16, became the youngest world No.1 in 1997. It is a record in tennis that has still not been broken. She stayed at the top for a total of 80 weeks straight.

Steffi Graf stayed at the top of the world for a total of consecutive 186 weeks. Her record of staying as the World No.1 has not been broken yet. She stayed on the top of the leaders’ board for the longest period. No male or female player ever since has been able to break her record.

Serena Williams took the World No.1 and stayed in that position for 186 weeks consecutively. She also became the oldest World No.1 in 2017.

It will be seen how much time; Iga stays at the top before somebody else topple her and take her position. But it is almost sure that she will end this year at the top of the WTA rankings. She will next participate in the WTA Finals tournament.
