10 WWE Superstars to watch out for in 2024

The year 2023 is coming to an end, and it has been one of the most successful years in WWE history. The matches were fantastic, the storylines were amazing, and fan investment was at its peak. While many superstars became champions, others showed off their potential.

Every superstar tried to do their best, but some of them just burst onto the scene with their mic skills or their matches. They have had a breakout year and have the potential to make 2024 their year. This new wave of superstars has brought so much excitement among wrestling fans, and they could be the next big thing in WWE.

These superstars might have a strong showing in 2024. Some superstars on the list haven’t made it to the big leagues yet, and some have even won some championships. Experienced or not, this bunch of wrestlers could have their best years in the company.

10. Santos Escobar

Santos Escobar started the year a little bit weak as the leader of Legado Del Fantasma in the tag team division. However, he joined the group led by Lucha legend Rey Mysterio, L.W.O., and got some exposure. Despite that, he had his moments of glory, but he was not connecting with the fans.

The latter half of the year turned out to be a game changer for him, as he turned heel and attacked Rey. His whole new heelish persona instantly got a reaction from the fans. The year 2024 can bring some gold around his waist as he is participating in the United States Title Tournament. With his new character, fans can expect Escobar to reach new heights in the new year.

9. Grayson Waller

Grayson Waller is the notorious heel that everybody hates. He made his main roster debut in mid-2023 and instantly made an impact by interacting with the likes of AJ Styles and John Cena. Although he is a heel, he has made things interesting for a lot of fans with his mic skills and charming persona.

As of now, he is part of a tag team with Austin Theory, but they both lost in the first round of the U.S. Title tournament. Moreover, he had a pretty average year, winning only 4 matches and losing 10. However, 2024 could be the breakout year for Waller, as he has started a rivalry with Kevin Owens, which can propel him to the main event scene. 

8. Kairi Sane

The Pirate Princess Kairi Sane recently made her return at Crown Jewel in aid of her friend Iyo Sky, surprising all the fans. Although she was absent for most of the year, she signed a new contract with the company and returned in the second half of the year. Since then, she has been constantly wreaking havoc as a member of Damage CTRL.

After an amazing performance in the women’s WarGames, she and Asuka have reunited as a tag team, the Kabuki Warriors. They have already started a rampage in the entire tag team division and set their eyes on gold. It won’t be a surprise if the fans see them as the new Women’s Tag Team Champions in the near future.

7. Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill was shown as one of the hottest stars when she made her on-screen debut in WWE. She instantly became the talk of the town as she decided to join WWE from its rival company, AEW. WWE teased the potential rivalries when she went face-to-face with big stars like Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

However, as time went on, the fans started wondering about her in-ring debut. Reports said she was training with NXT star Roxanne Perez at the Performance Center to hone her skills. Jade demanded fans trust her as she is preparing for a massive debut, and when she arrives, she is going to take over WWE.

6. Trick Williams

Trick Williams is a perfect example of the phrase ‘coming out of the shadow.’ He started the year as a sidekick of his friend Carmelo Hayes. But as the months progressed, fans saw an instant rise in his popularity because of his flamboyant character.

He even tasted success by winning championship gold in NXT, as he beat Dominik Mysterio to become the NXT North American Champion. He is a prominent part of the main event scene, as he recently became the No. 1 contender for the NXT Title by winning the Iron Survivor Challenge. Needless to say, Williams is one of the stars who might prosper into a megastar.

5. Cora Jade

Cora Jade instantly made an impact as she returned and attacked the current NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria. She was out for four months as she suffered an injury. Cora already has an established career, as she has been a one-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion with Roxanne Perez.

The year 2024 will be huge for her, as she has her eyes set on the NXT Women’s Title. Even if she doesn’t win the title, she has more than enough potential to be on the main roster. Only time will tell what the future holds for the talented Cora Jade.

4. Ilja Dragunov

The Mad Dragon Ilja Dragunov had one of the best years of his career in NXT. Some may even consider him the NXT wrestler of the year. From fantastic promos to five-star matches, Dragunov has already proven himself as a world champion-caliber superstar.

Many fans are ready to see him as the main roster superstar, but it looks like Dragunov still wants to dominate the entire division and strengthen his reign as the NXT Champion. It’s only a matter of time before he takes the leap to the main roster and has the match many fans are waiting for—another five-star classic with Gunther.

3. Chad Gable

The Alpha Academy leader, Chad Gable was always a technical master but was never used up to his full potential. He elevated himself when he went toe-to-toe with Gunther for the I.C. Title. It proved that not only is he excellent in the ring, but he is also a legitimate star with his mic skills. 

However, after the loss to Gunther, his momentum was halted as he fought Noam Dar in the NXT for a few weeks. Gable may have lost his focus on the title, but he is surely looking to grab an opportunity to take that title away from the Ring General and become the new Intercontinental Champion.

2. Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker has WWE Champion written all over him. He has defeated everybody on the NXT roster, and fans are begging for Bron to make his debut on the main roster. He has found an enormous amount of success as a two-time NXT Champion. 

He has had a stellar year, with amazing victories over stars like Hayes, Williams, and Jinder Mahal. Fans even refer to him as this generation’s Goldberg. It won’t be a surprise if Bron becomes a champion on the main roster in 2024.

1. Carmelo Hayes

Carmelo Hayes has impressed the most among all of the superstars. His NXT title reign is already considered to be one of the best in history. Melo became the champion at NXT Stand & Deliver after defeating Bron, and he held the title for 8 months before losing it to Dragunov.

Even after losing the title, his momentum hasn’t stopped a bit, as he was revealed to be the surprise NXT member in the 8-man United States Title tournament. He impressed the WWE Universe with his amazing in-ring skills when he defeated Waller in the first round. If Hayes keeps going the same way, he will surely be a world champion in 2024.
