5 Potential winners for the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match
With the Royal Rumble 2022 only a few weeks away, we should have a good idea of who the favourites are to beat off 29 other superstars for the honour of pointing to that massive WrestleMania sign.
When predicting who will win the Royal Rumble, keep in mind the following question: what will the women’s title fights at WrestleMania be like?
At WrestleMania 38, the survivor of the Royal Rumble will face either the Raw or SmackDown women’s champion. Only a number of possible WrestleMania championship matchups leap out to me when we look at all of the women on the WWE roster who have been involved in the last two months. However, as we know it’s WWE and anything can roll out.
Let’s have a look at the potential winners of the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
5 Potential winners for the women’s Royal Rumble Match
Bianca Belair
We all know what Bianca can do in the Rumble match and we saw that clearly last year as she emerged out as the winner of the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble Match. Bianca has been in the main event picture for quite a while and it could all make sense for Bianca to win the Women’s Rumble match and challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania.
Sasha Banks
Another main event scenario that is currently been hyped and bought by the WWE Universe is Sasha Banks versus Charlotte Flair. We all feel that Charlotte has had a good run with a title and now, it’s BOSS TIME.
Knowing that Bianca just won the Rumble match last year, it feels a bit unlikely for her to do it consecutively this year too. Hence, Sasha could be the prime pick for pointing out at the Wrestlemania signboard at the end of the Women’s Rumble match.
Charlotte Flair
This Friday night on Smackdown, the Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair took everyone by surprise as she announced herself as the first women’s champion to enter the Royal Rumble match. This could be a great set-up by WWE to continue with their Champion versus Champion storyline which is most likely to happen in the Men’s division as we could see the Universal Champion Roman Reigns squaring up against the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in a Winner-takes-all match.
What could be a better way than making the Champion Charlotte Flair win the Rumble match and challenge the Raw Women’s Champion for a Winner-takes-all match at the grandest stages of them all?
Alexa Bliss
Since her loss to Charlotte at Extreme Rules, Alexa Bliss has been missing on WWE TV. Bliss is one of WWE’s most prominent female athletes, but she hasn’t performed in The Royal Rumble or WrestleMania in the last few years.
The former champion could make a comeback in the Women’s Royal Rumble bout next month, where she could overcome 29 other women. Bliss’ performance in last year’s contest was so lackluster that she deserves an opportunity to redeem herself in this year’s battle.
Raquel Gonzales
Raquel Gonzalez has ruled NXT in recent years, and it won’t be long before she joins WWE’s main roster. Every year, WWE includes a number of legends and NXT Superstars in their Royal Rumble matches, and it’s difficult to envision Gonzalez being left out next year. Gonzalez has a chance to become the first NXT Superstar to win the Royal Rumble match on her debut.
This year’s competition is wide open, and it’s difficult to predict who will win the yearly match as WrestleMania season looms. Raquel would be a great choice for the win if there was a crafty plot to slip her into since WWE loves a good twist.
