Jake Hager, popularly known as Jack Swagger to the WWE Universe, has been managing two careers since 2017. He is currently a part of the All Elite Wrestling roster and also competes in the heavyweight division of Bellator MMA. Hager’s professional wrestling career kicked off in 2006 when he had a WWE tryout in Deep South Wrestling.

Under the name of Jack Swagger, he debuted on ECW in 2008. Here he went on to win the ECW Championship and had even built an undefeated streak. He debuted on Raw in 2009.  Here he went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship and also the Money in the Bank briefcase. In March 2017, his request for release was granted by the company.

Since then, Jake Hager featured prominently on the independent circuit, before signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2019. He debuted on the inaugural episode of Dynamite. On AEW, Hager is a member of The Inner Circle – which includes Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana and Ortiz too. In 2017, he even announced that he had signed with Bellator MMA.

Jake Hager made his debut with Bellator MMA in January 2019, around the same time when he started appearing for AEW. Since then, Hager has been juggling between these two careers. While he had last fought Brandon Calton in October 2020, he had last appeared on AEW at Full Gear. He recently appeared for an interview with AEW Unrestricted podcast, where he was asked about giving up wrestling for MMA.

“They both compliment each other. It’s one of those things where being on television as a pro wrestler makes me a bigger draw, a bigger opponent, and makes me more money. They go hand in hand and it’s a perfect storm,” Hager mentioned. He has made it quite clear that he isn’t willing to give up either of the roles. Hence, fans can expect more of him on both the fronts, in the coming times.

After leaving WWE, and joining AEW, Jake Hager performed on Lucha Underground as well as Major League Wrestling. He has been a part of the AEW roster since October 2019, where he had aligned himself with The Inner Circle. In his debut match he defeated Dustin Rhodes.

Post this, Hager’s biggest feud of AEW kicked off. He was attacked by Jon Moxley – which led to an Empty Arena No Holds Barred match for the AEW World Championship. Unfortunately, Hager lost to Moxley – which was also his first loss on AEW.
