Punk
CM Punk is one of the biggest stars in the entire professional wrestling industry. His career kicked off way back in 1999, when he performed primarily with Ring of Honor (ROH). But his career received a massive boost when he was signed by WWE in 2005. In fact, his 434 days long WWE Championship reign is still the sixth-longest in the history of the company.
But this wasn’t the only feat that Punk had received during his stint on WWE. He is also a 2-time WWE Champion, 3-time World Heavyweight Champion and was the 19th Triple Crown Champion in the company. He was the fastest wrestler to become a Triple Crown Champion, after achieving the feat in 203 days.
After a fallout from WWE, CM Punk left the company and even announced his retirement in 2014. Years went by and fans had lost all hope of his return to the industry. But All Elite Wrestling did the unthinkable and signed Punk. After lots and lots of speculation, Punk returned to professional wrestling in 2021.
Recently on AEW Revolution, CM Punk collided in a Dog Collar match against MJF. Interestingly, he walked out to his old Ring of Honor theme. Both the stars were connected to each other through a dog collar and a chain. While there was no doubt that it could be an epic match, but what ensued exceeded all expectations.
It was a bloodbath between them. In fact Punk was profusely bleeding for a major part of the match. Use of chain, thumbtacks were quite a commonly used in the match. After an outside interference, Punk managed to secure the win over MJF. You can watch a short clip from the match below:
CM Punk is not interested in going after AEW World title
Post-AEW Revolution, CM Punk appeared for the media scrum. After his big win over MJF, the question that lies is what next? The same question was asked in the media scrum too and Punk revealed that he isn’t too interested in going after the World title.
“I mean there’s people I want to wrestle here, just for wrestling sake. But after a while, I don’t know how much time I have, I don’t know how many matches I have left. So if I am not working my way towards a title shot, if I am not trying to be where Hangman is, I don’t know what I am doing,” mentioned Punk.
