WWE announces the teams for the Fatal Four Way Tag Team Championship match
Next week's Smackdown will feature a Fatal Four Way Tag Team match
WWE recently announced that next week’s episode of Smackdown will be a Wrestlemania special episode. Major announcements were made for the episode which makes Wrestlemania technically a three-night event.
The episode will feature “Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal” and also a Fatal Four Way Tag Team match for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team titles. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler will be putting their titles on the line.
They will be facing The Street Profits, Rey and Dominik Mysterio, and The Alpha Academy. But a title match, just hours before Wrestlemania 37 is still confusing. Considering Mania is a two-night event, there was plenty of time for WWE to schedule this match then.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode will defend their titles in a Fatal Four Way Tag Team match
In the news article published on the WWE website, the teams for the Fatal Four Tag Team match was revealed. Following is an excerpt from WWE.com:
“For months the SmackDown Tag Team division has been extremely competitive, forcing WWE Official Adam Pearce to make a major decision. Next Friday, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode will look to defend their titles in a Fatal 4-Way against The Street Profits, Rey & Dominik Mysterio, and Otis & Chad Gable.”
The only logical reasoning for havin the Championship match on Smackdown could be that WWE is doing away with the kick-off show on both the nights. But that is unfortunate for the stars participating in these matches, as they will be missing out on a chance to perform in front of a live crowd.
WWE Wrestlemania airs live on 10th and 11th April, 2021.
