WWE is set to host its biggest SummerSlam event yet next month in New York, New Jersey. For the first time ever, the premium live event will span two nights, making it a landmark occasion for both fans and the company.
To live up to the hype, WWE must stack the card with blockbuster matches in the weeks leading up to the show. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, the company took a major step in that direction by announcing a high-profile bout featuring former WWE Champions.
The Stamford-based promotion has officially announced that Logan Paul will team up with Drew McIntyre for the first time ever to face Randy Orton and Grammy-nominated artist Jelly Roll. The match was confirmed following a heated confrontation between the former WWE Champions at Saturday Night’s Main Event. This tag team bout will also mark the in-ring debut of the Nashville-based music star in WWE.

Jelly Roll accompanied Orton for his match against McIntyre last night in Atlanta. During the bout, Logan Paul made his way to the ringside and confronted the Grammy-nominated artist, sparking a heated argument.
The distraction allowed ‘The Viper’ to capitalize, hitting ‘The Scottish Warrior’ with an RKO to secure the victory. However, the drama didn’t end there—following the match, Paul stormed the ring and ambushed Orton from behind.
But unexpectedly, Jelly Roll made a save by pushing away ‘The Maverick’ from the ring. It gave an angry McIntyre an opening to hit the songwriter with a Claymore. In the end, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ and ‘The Social Media Star’ got the last laugh.
Similarly, this week on SmackDown, Jelly Roll got involved in a physical combat with Logan Paul to save ‘The Apex Predator.’ It is going to be interesting to see what WWE has in store for this feud from here on.
Randy Orton apologized to Jelly Roll following Saturday Night’s Main Event
Randy Orton and Jelly Roll had a turbulent night at Saturday Night’s Main Event. With everything that unfolded, it was evident that Orton wasn’t pleased—especially on behalf of his friend. Following the show, WWE backstage correspondent Cathy Kelley caught up with the duo to get their reactions to the chaos caused by Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul in the ring.

In the interview, Orton took full responsibility for what happened, admitting it was his fault that the Nashville-based artist took a devastating ‘Claymore’ in the ring. Orton acknowledged that he should have been more cautious when dealing with Paul and McIntyre. As a result, he issued a sincere apology to Jelly Roll for the events that unfolded at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
I put my man in harm’s way, Cathy. It’s as simple as that. I should have never had him out there with Drew and even Logan out there. That was just, it was a bad call on my part, I apologize.

However, Jelly Roll promptly dismissed the apology, urging Orton to forget feeling sorry and instead focus on getting ready for payback. The Grammy-nominated artist fired up ‘The Apex Predator’, motivating him to prepare for war against Paul and McIntyre at SummerSlam next month. Orton appeared fully on board with the idea, looking more determined and fired up than ever.
Randy Orton wants to play Batman in James Gunn’s DCU
Many WWE Superstars have transitioned to Hollywood after their in-ring careers, with notable names like John Cena, Batista, and The Rock finding major success in acting. Now, it seems Randy Orton could be eyeing a similar path. ‘The Viper’ recently hinted at the possibility of working in Hollywood, potentially collaborating with James Gunn in the DC Universe.

Taking to X, Orton responded to a fan question about who should play Batman in the DCU. Without saying a word, ‘The Legend Killer’ simply posted a wave emoji—subtly hinting at his interest in portraying the ‘Caped Crusader’ in James Gunn’s reimagined DC Universe.

In the past, ‘The Viper’ has made it clear that he has no interest in pursuing a full-time acting career in Hollywood. Therefore, his recent post seems more like a playful nod meant to stir the pot amid the ongoing speculation surrounding the casting of Batman in the DCU.
