“She broke my nose and sent me flowers” Becky Lynch recalls when WWE Superstar unknowingly shaped her career

WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch recently appeared on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull sessions and spilt out many secrets and inside talks about her life. Lynch recalled the moment that led her to become a star when she was knocked out and left down with a broken nose by the hands of Nia Jax at an edition of Monday Night Raw.

“Nobody had time to figure out what we were all doing and these were the spots,” Lynch stated. “And I went there, turned Nia around, started beating on her. She hit me with that one punch. I went down and I didn’t know, I was on autopilot after that.”
The confrontation was an element of the Survivor Series‘ build-up. Becky Lynch was supposed to battle Ronda Rousey on the show at the moment. Lynch was forced to leave the show due to her injuries. Charlotte Flair took her spot. Becky Lynch claims Jax apologised for harming her and that she doesn’t hold any grudges towards him.
Nia Jax sent her flowers as an apology
“She sent me flowers, but I should’ve sent her flowers,” Lynch said. “Yeah, yeah it was after that, there was an iconic image to go with the match.” Becky Lynch considers the injury to be a watershed moment in her career. She also believes that her character’s situation changed once she recovered.
“It felt like it was better on the run-up to that,” Lynch recalled. “Because then I was a heel. So I was still being booked as a heel even though I’m a massive babyface and there was a lot of freedom in that. And there was a lot of – I wasn’t expected to show much vulnerability. And with ‘The Man’ character, vulnerability is a little bit hard and I’m not saying you shouldn’t be vulnerable. You always have to show vulnerability, but in this stage, it wasn’t essential.
“And then after that, things started to get a little bit convoluted,” Lynch continued. “But obviously, it catapulted me to a different stratosphere. But I’m talking about the feeling and all of that. I felt better on the run-up to that than the run after that.”
It was a very sweet gesture from Nia Jax which built respect for her in the minds of Becky Lynch and now the two veteran women seem to possess a good bond and we expect to see a feud between them in the future.
