“I was going to give her a big moment”: Becky Lynch wanted to face Bayley at Wrestlemania

Becky Lynch is one of the biggest Superstars on the WWE roster today. After holding on to a WWE title for several years, Big Time Becks finally lost the title at Wrestlemania 38. She had entered the Showcase of Immortals as the Raw Women’s Champion but ended up losing the title to Bianca Belair.

When she returned from her maternity break at Summerslam 2021 – Lynch had turned Heel. She even pinned the then-Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. The WWE Universe had a really hard time to accept Becky Lynch in a Heel role. Yet she has now succeeded and cemented herself as a top Heel.

But Lynch wasn’t the only one who faced such struggle. A couple of years ago, Bayley too was a top babyface for the company and had turned Heel. Initially, she was an out and out heel. But The Role Model worked on her character and as a comedic Heel she just won over the WWE Universe.

While both of them are two of the biggest Superstars in the company, interestingly, both of them were not a part of the Wrestlemania card last year. On one hand Becky Lynch was on a maternity break, on the other hand Bayley was just a co-host for the night and wasn’t seen in action. In a recent interview with Fightful, Big Time Becks revealed that she was supposed to face Bayley at Wrestlemania 37.

“There was a bit of a pitch. I know that Bayley, who worked so hard that whole year and really just went into a different level with the character, had nothing. It was sad. She deserved a big moment. So me, being the generous soul that I am, was going to give her a big moment. But it never came to fruition. I think they thought, ‘Well, we need something bigger for Big Time Becks,” mentioned Lynch.

Big Time Becks lost the Raw Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 38 to Bianca Belair. Since then, she has been missing from WWE television. Reports suggest that after a hectic Wrestlemania, Becky Lynch has taken some time off to spend time with her and Seth Rollins’ daughter, Roux.

Interestingly, Seth Rollins is already back and has been continuing his feud against Cody Rhodes. While Lynch is expected to be back soon, it is quite unlikely that she will be continuing her feud against the Raw Women’s Champion.
