“I crave competition,” former Smackdown Women’s Champion is ready for a match against Ronda Rousey
Belair and Rousey
Ronda Rousey is the most dominant woman in the professional wrestling industry. After a long hiatus, “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” made her return to WWE at this year’s Royal Rumble. She entered the Woman’s Royal Rumble match at No.28 and went on to win the match, earning the right to main event Wrestlemania 38.
During the match, Rousey eliminated 4 participants – Brie Bella, Nikki A.S.H., Shotzi and the Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. She sealed her win by sending Flair over the top rope. She has announced that this year she will be going after Flair for the Smackdown Women’s title at the Showcase of Immortals.
Interestingly, the last time we had see Rousey on WWE, it was at Wrestlemania 35 – where she was the part of the first-ever Women’s Wrestlemania main event along with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Considering her dominance on the main roster, she is one of the most sought-after Superstars on the roster.
Even if you don’t win a title, a simple win over Ronda Rousey could do wonders for one’s career. In fact, someone like Bianca Belair who has failed to gain momentum since her Summerslam 2021 could benefit massively from a feud against Rousey. The EST of WWE recently appeared for an interview with SunSport where she discussed the possibility of facing Rousey.
“In WWE the possibilities are endless and no matter what, you’re always going to meet everyone eventually in the ring. I love competition, I crave competition, I don’t run from competition. Any opportunity to prove I am the EST of WWE… I will say as long as Ronda Rousey is in WWE and I’m in WWE that possibility is on the table and I do think that it will eventually happen in the future,” mentioned Bianca Belair.
Ronda Rousey will be seen in Tag Team action
Ronda Rousey is gearing up for a massive Smackdown Women’s Championship match for the main event of Wrestlemania 38. But before that she has another massive match coming up at Elimination Chamber. She will be teaming up with Naomi to take on Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville.
But before we see her in action at the event in Saudi Arabia, all the 4 Superstars will be appearing on the go-home Smackdown episode. They will be seen in a contract signing segment which has already been taped last week. The segment has already garnered a lot of attention due to a botched attack. But it is being speculated that WWE will be editing out the botch from the episode.
