The Beast is unstoppable! Brock Lesnar breaks two records at Royal Rumble 2022
Brock Lesnar made history as he worked double-time at the WWE Royal Rumble event on Saturday.
Lesnar previously dropped the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley after Paul Heyman turned on him by giving the WWE Championship to Roman Reigns in order for “The Tribal Chief” to deprive “The Beast” of the title. Secondly, Brock entered the Royal Rumble match and we all know what happened.
Brock Lesnar broke two records and made history
Let’s talk about the Royal Rumble match. For the second time in his career, Lesnar came in last and rapidly removed five WWE Superstars to claim the Royal Rumble battle. To win the match, The Beast Incarnate eliminated celeb Bad Bunny, Shane McMahon, Riddle, Randy Orton, and lastly Drew McIntyre.
In the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Lesnar set two Royal Rumble records. At only 2:32, he lasted the least amount of time in the ring of any Royal Rumble winner. Edge had formerly set the record for the winner of a Royal Rumble match spending the least amount of time in the ring, which he accomplished in 2010. He lasted 7 minutes and 37 seconds in the ring.
Secondly, the Beast also now holds the record for the most years between two Royal Rumble wins. Brock previously won the Rumble match in 2003 and now again, in 2022 which becomes a gap of 19 long years. In 2003, he won the Royal Rumble, and at WrestleMania 19, he defeated Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship. Brock now has decided to face the Tribal Chief in the main event of Wrestlemania 38 for the Universal Championship, or maybe for both the heavyweight championships, you never know!
Lesnar is one of six opponents in the Elimination Chamber match, at which Bobby Lashley’s WWE championship will be on the line. According to recent sources, Vince McMahon may be eager in a title vs. title match at WrestleMania, which implies Lesnar may reclaim the title from Lashley later this month. We may find out what happens as the Elimination Chamber airs in less than two weeks on 19th February, from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
