“The Queen” Charlotte Flair is not keen on facing a Smackdown Superstar

Smackdown Women's Champion

Charlotte Flair is a second-generation professional wrestler, who has dominated the WWE roster since 2013. Having won the 13 Championships for a record, Flair is the most successful Superstars in the women division today. She has held the Divas Championship once, Raw Women’s Championship six times and the Smackdown Women’s Championship six times.

Additionally, Flair has also won the NXT Women’s Championship twice, but that is not a part of the official count made by WWE. For a major part of her career, she has played “The Queen” gimmick. Now the name is directly associated with Charlotte Flair. In fact, fans have associated the gimmick so much that they direct their hate for the character towards the Superstar.

But now, Flair is not the only Queen on the roster. At WWE Crown Jewel 2021, Zelina Vega won the Queen’s Crown tournament to become a Queen too. In fact, she is now referred to as Queen Zelina and the same name hasn’t been used for the Smackdown Women’s Championship since. Interestingly, since becoming the Queen, Vega too has tasted massive success and has even won the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Now, with two Queens on the roster, the question crops up that whether WWE will go ahead with a Queen vs Queen match. In a recent interview with Metro, Charlotte Flair mentioned that she doesn’t need a crown to be called the Queen!

“I don’t think I need a crown to be called the Queen. I am the Queen. It’s silly to me. No offense! I mean, maybe facing Zelina, but to have a match focused around Queen versus Queen? Like, I’m the Queen of them all – without a throne. I don’t see that as – she has a long way to go before that becomes her,” said Flair.

Flair and Storm

The Smackdown Women’s Champion is currently occupied in a feud against Toni Storm. While Queen Zelina and Rhea Ripley currently hold the Women’s Tag Team Championship. Its quite unlikely that these two Queen would come face to face anytime soon.

Last week on Smackdown Flair faced Storm in a Championship Contender’s match. Towards the end of the match, Flair smashed Storm’s face on the ring post several times to get disqualified. With the Queen picking up the loss, Toni Storm became the No.1 Contender for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. They could collide on WWE Day 1.
