“Quitting is not in my DNA”: Charlotte Flair makes bold claims ahead of Wrestlemania Backlash

Smackdown Women's Champion

Charlotte Flair is the most successful woman in the history of WWE, in terms of her World Championship reigns. Currently holding the Smackdown Women’s Championship, Flair is in her 13th reign as a World Champion – a feat that no other woman in the company has achieved. But she almost did lose the title a couple of days ago at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

In the co-main event of Wrestlemania 38, the Queen put the Smackdown Women’s Championship on the line against The Baddest Woman on the Planet. The build of the feud involved both the Superstars claiming that they will make the other one tap out – and Rousey managed to do exactly that!

Unfortunately, the referee was knocked down and couldn’t see Charlotte Flair tapping out. The match then ended with Flair pinning Rousey to retain the title. But the controversial finish ensured that this rivalry is nowhere near its conclusion. On the latest episode of Smackdown, Ronda Rousey challenged the Smackdown Women’s Champion for a rematch at Wrestlemania Backlash in an I QUIT match.

But Charlotte Flair was in no mood to accept the challenge and responded with a “GET IN THE BACK OF THE LINE B***H!” The Smackdown Women’s Champion later appeared on Talking Smack where she mentioned to Kayla Braxton that Ronda Rousey couldn’t beat her any game, let alone making her quit in a wrestling match.

“Well of course she wants a rematch because she didn’t win. She lost, she didn’t tap me out. I felt the Armbar, I felt the pressure, I didn’t tap and I didn’t lose. Not only am I the hardest worker, but I am the smartest worker. Ronda couldn’t even beat me at Candyland. I even said it earlier, Chess, still couldn’t beat me. Checkers, whatever it is. She can’t beat me, I’m Charlotte Flair. I don’t quit, quitting is not in my DNA. I win, I win at all costs. I won at WrestleMania and I’m gonna make her say, I Quit,”  mentioned Flair.

Flair rejected Rousey’s challenge

When the Baddest Woman on the Planet issued a challenge to Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship in an I Quit match, the Queen outrightly rejected the challenge. She wanted Rousey step back in line and let some new challengers emerge.

But her interview on Talking Smack seems to suggest that she will be accepting Rousey’s challenge in the coming week. This makes it the first match to be announced for the Wrestlemania Backlash card. Another match that has been teased on Smackdown is Roman Reigns vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
