“She’s got the instinct”: Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair applauds Wrestlemania opponent

Flair stands tall over Rousey

Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey are currently involved in what could be one of the best feuds of the year. Two of the biggest Superstars on the roster today, came face to face for the first time this year at Royal Rumble 2022. Although she was the Smackdown Women’s Champion, Flair had entered the Women’s over-the-top rope elimination match.

The Queen wanted to win the Rumble and earn the right to select her own Wrestlemania opponent. She was well on her to win the match for the second time in her career, but she fell short by just one step! Scoring the highest number of eliminations in the match, Flair was finally eliminated by the eventual winner Ronda Rousey.

Ronda Rousey announced that she will be challenging Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania 38 for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Since then, they have faced each other in several Tag Team matches and have been involved in brutal backstage brawls as well! Clearly, The Queen as well as the Baddest Woman on the Planet is ready to go to any lengths to win the title.

If their recent interactions are anything to go by, Rousey and Flair are all set to deliver one of the best matches of Wrestlemania 38. But the Smackdown Women’s Champion recently showed that on-screen they might be ready to attack one another, but outside, they share immense respect to one another. While speaking to Hot 97, Charlotte Flair was asked whether she respects her Wrestlemania opponent.

“Absolutely. What she did [in her first] year, she faced The Bellas, Nia Jax, myself, Alexa Bliss. She performed with many different opponents at a high level. That doesn’t mean you necessarily have the best chemistry with everyone, but I think she went out there and she reminded me of Kurt Angle. She picked it up so quickly. It’s all about instinct and she has the instinct, and that’s half the battle,” mentioned Flair.

Charlotte Flair might not main event Wrestlemania Saturday

The winner of the Men’s as well as the Women’s Royal Rumble matches goes on to main event the Wrestlemania that year. When Ronda Rousey announced that she will challenge Flair at Mania, it was clear that they would main event either of the Wrestlemania nights. But that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore!

Initially it was announced that Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey will collide in the main event of Wrestlemania Saturday. But that no longer seems to be the case. Reportedly, WWE wants the special THE KO Show with Kevin Owens and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to be the main event of the first night.
