“Back where I belong”: Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is ready to main event Wrestlemania 38
Smackdown Women's Champion
Charlotte Flair is the most successful woman in the history of WWE, in terms of number of World Championship reigns. She is currently involved in a feud against “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” Ronda Rousey. The feud between the two Superstars kicked off at Royal Rumble – which Flair had entered even though she was the Champion.
The Royal Rumble winners traditionally earn the opportunity to get a title shot at Wrestlemania. But Flair wanted to earn the right to choose her opponent for the Grandest Stage of Them All. But the only obstacle that the Queen couldn’t cross was Ronda Rousey! Flair was the final elimination of the match – handing the win to Rousey.
The UFC Hall of Famer has since announced that she will be going after Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 38. This has been shaping up to become one of the best feuds of the year, with the involvement of several brawls and sneak attacks too!
But one needs to commend the Smackdown Women’s Champion for the fact that she is all set to main event Wrestlemania this year. Charlotte Flair missed the event last year after she tested positive for Covid. She recently appeared for an interview with indianexpress.com where she looked back her progress since last year.
“Everything happens for a reason. That’s the way I look at it. It’s funny, I missed last year’s Mania but am main eventing this year’s mania. Nothing was going to stop me from getting back on the card. It just made me work harder and get back to where I belong,” Smackdown Women’s Champion mentioned.
Charlotte Flair has immense respect for Ronda Rousey
While on screen, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair are constantly after each other, things are quite different in real life. These are two of the greatest professional wrestlers on the WWE roster today and in an interview with Hot 97, Flair revealed that she has immense respect for “The Baddest Woman on the Planet”.
“Absolutely. What she did [in her first] year, she faced The Bellas, Nia Jax, myself, Alexa Bliss. She performed with many different opponents at a high level. That doesn’t mean you necessarily have the best chemistry with everyone, but I think she went out there and she reminded me of Kurt Angle. She picked it up so quickly. It’s all about instinct and she has the instinct, and that’s half the battle,” mentioned Flair.
