Dwayne Johnson and his journey to glory has been very attractive and inriguing. The former WWE Champion has been very descriptive about his whole life in his sitcom, Young Rock, which has not only helped people know about the Hollywood megastar’s life, but also get inspiration from what is the real wrestling business.

The Hollywood megastar, in the most recent episode of Young Rock which aired on April 12th 2022, opened up about what made him quit the football, which he calls the ‘biggest failure of his life’, and when he made a choice to follow his father’s footsteps and enter into the wrestling business. The former WWE Champion revealed that his father never wanted him to enter into the wrestling ring, thanks to Rocky’s underrated and underappreciated wrestling career.

Dwayne Johnson didn’t get any success in his football career and was always seen as a substitute for the games. He was hardly chosen to be in the match right from the start and had only earned fame in the name of his father, ‘the Soulman’ Rocky Johnson. The former WWE Champion revealed that when he was waiting for the most important call of his career, he was struggling to choose between football and wrestling.

After Johnson received the call which was made to bring the megastar back into the football field, he rejected it and shared with his parents that he wanted to enter the wrestling business. But Johnson also revealed that his mother was elated to her that, while his father was furious for him choosing the wrong path. Initially, Rocky Johnson didn’t accept to train his son Dwayne Johnson, but after everyone explaining him, he reluctantly accepted.

Rocky Johnson started training Dwayne but not in a wrestling ring which was initially to hard for the Rock. Dwayne was trained in a boxing ring and was just trained how to sell out moves for around 2 months. Dwayne Johnson then decided to call Pat Patterson and ask him what he thought of the training. Though Rocky was disappointed with that, Patterson’s three words, ‘keep working kid’, brought a lot of confidence and Dwayne and made him realise that he was on the right path.
