Jey Uso showed exactly how to steal someone’s thunder on this week’s Raw. He won the No. 1 contenders Battle Royal for the world heavyweight championship at the expense of his twin brother, Jimmy Uso.
‘The Yeet Master’ is consequently headed to Salt Lake City for Saturday Night’s Main Event to take on CM Punk. They’ll duke it out for the vacant world title that Seth Rollins was stripped of. The live crowd reaction to Uso’s win was the polar opposite of what the numbers suggest online.
WWE’s upload of the said video on its YouTube channel had over 30,000 dislikes as of a few hours ago. The ticked-off fanbase has slammed the toothless booking decision to have the 40-year-old outlast a star-studded field in the Battle Royal just a week after he got pinned by Punk in a triple-threat match also featuring LA Knight. Speaking of the latter, his dedicated fan pages on X are irate.

The pro-Knight audience has started regurgitating the market theory about WWE’s top brass having something against ‘The Megastar’. The allegations stem from the fact that the Triple H-led creative hasn’t even given Knight a fair shot at proving his worth as a reliable world title holder despite being constantly backed by the fans.
What’s crazy is that the story was there. CM Punk vs LA Knight was being built up for months at this point. You’d think after that build up, and Punk saying “you’ll never pin me and you’ll never be WHC” that the match at SNME would be those two. Nah. Jey Uso. LA might be cooked.

Whereas the so-called Jey Uso fatigue has started to kick in. Even though he gets the arena audience rolling whenever his music hits, the San Francisco native hasn’t proven to be anywhere near the best when it comes to bell-to-bell performances. In kayfabe, the ‘Master of Yeet’ is adhering to Roman Reigns‘ advice of focusing on himself.
Could CM Punk segue into LA Knight feud after Jey Uso hurdle?
After Jey Uso showed no remorse to Jimmy Uso on Raw, one could tell he’s a man possessed with regaining the world title. ‘Big Jim’ was frustrated with his younger brother and kept yelling at the former ‘Right Hand Man’ until the show got off air. Seeing her husband in shambles, Naomi came up with a tried-and-tested formula to put her brother-in-law in place for having wronged ‘Big Jim’.

The latter’s dissatisfaction with Jey could turn out to be a decisive factor in the Yeet Master’s pursuit of the top prize on Monday nights. Saturday Night’s Main Event will crown a new World Heavyweight Champion. ‘The Yeet Master’ has to do the unprecedented to capture the gold for the second time in his career. And standing in his way is a veteran in CM Punk.
The former AEW star has yet to have a full-fledged championship reign in his ongoing WWE stint. Back at SummerSlam, the ‘Second City Saint’ ousted Gunther to become the world champ. It didn’t last long, as Seth Rollins ended up cashing in on him just when the Chicagoan was basking in the adulation of the fans at MetLife Stadium. Since that tormenting setback, Punk had been trying to upstage Rollins.
This is so crazy to me cause LA Knight vs CM Punk was the biggest no brainer you could book. Every single promo/segment they’ve had together has been good, and have gotten great reactions from the fans (in the arena and on the internet). This feud is clearly what the ppl want rn. https://t.co/xVrKVJDDpq

But now that ‘The Visionary’ is out injured for an extended period of time, ‘The Voice of the Voiceless’ will break free from that vortex. As he was making his entrance for calling the Battle Royal on commentary, Punk was heard saying he hoped LA Knight wins it. The two of them do have unfinished business. Knight and Punk have had numerous interactions in recent months, screaming mega potential of a money-printing feud.
For that to eventually happen, the fans will be rooting for the ‘Straight Edge Superstar’ to beat Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event and then stand across from Knight in a program with the world title up for grabs.
While it’d be wishful thinking at this point, the LA Knight diehards would love nothing more than him feuding with Punk en route to WrestleMania 42 and ‘The Megastar’ finally winning the elusive world title at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
