WWE Smackdown this week started with Paul Heyman explaining the WWE Universe why he betrayed Brock Lesnar and aligned with Roman Reigns again. But the most intriguing moment of the segment was when Goldberg made his shocking return. The Icon came and challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber.
The Icon came out and started with the words ‘I acknowledge you’ when the WWE Universe started doubting the Hall of Famer. But Goldberg continued and said that ‘I acknowledge you as my next victim’. This brought the WWE Universe out loud happy to see the match that was scheduled to take place a couple of years ago.
Goldberg was previously scheduled to battle Roman Reigns back in 2020 when the Icon was the Universal Champion. Reigns was supposed to challenge the Hall of Famer at WrestleMania 36 when COVID came to the scenes and led to Reigns taking a hiatus from the company to stay away from any health issues.
WWE Universe went beserk on Twitter after Goldberg made his surprise return
The WWE universe was very happy to see WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg return to the ring and challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Elimination Chamber.
