Without doubt, Ric Flair is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Throughout his illustrious career, Flair wrestled in different promotions and against different types of opponents. As such, one would assume that several younger wrestlers would line up to take advice from the WWE Hall of Famer. However, that is not the case, according to Flair himself.
While speaking on the Five Star podcast, Flair revealed that he has stopped giving advice to younger talent nowadays. The Nature Boy claimed that today’s generation of wrestlers would rather take feedback from the internet than experienced vets like him. And, when he does give advice, wrestlers tend to either forget it or not follow it at all. At times, wrestlers ask for advice from him only to go to someone who doesn’t know about the business.
With the evolution of social media, wrestlers do tend to take fans’ criticisms to heart. There have been many cases where talent becomes seriously invested in online chatter, which results in heated back-and-forth exchanges with users.
I don’t give it anymore. They don’t listen to it. I’ve seen it. They ask me something, then walk over and ask somebody who knows nothing about it. I used to respect it when they asked me, but now if I give an opinion, I have to rethink it because I know they’re not going to take it to heart.

For instance, Nia Jax recently deactivated her X account following Survivor Series: WarGames. Jax received backlash for her performance in the women’s namesake match. Although she initially responded to some of her critics, Jax eventually decided to take an indefinite break from the social media platform.
While it does have its downsides, a lot of wrestlers have managed to generate buzz around them online. In the past year, the likes of The Rock and Drew McIntyre have cut some of the best promos of the year on their own social media accounts. Nonetheless, it is difficult to see an end to wrestlers considering feedback from fans on social media.

Speaking on the Five Star podcast, Flair lauded the promotion for doing a phenomenal job. Furthermore, the 75-year-old legend revealed that he is still close with Khan. In fact, Flair termed the billionaire as one of the greatest human beings he’s ever met.
I think he’s one of the greatest — not just great promoter, I think he’s one of the greatest people, human beings I’ve ever met. Very caring, genuine guy. And he’s got more money than God.

Although Flair signed a two-year deal with AEW, he quietly parted ways with the company a few months after Sting’s retirement. At the moment, Flair is not signed to any wrestling promotion but still continues to express his desire for one more match inside the squared circle.
