Heat on Shane McMahon has made Vince ‘let go’ of his son from WWE post the backstage drama after Royal Rumble 2022

Shane McMahon, the son of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, returned to the ring for the first time since WrestleMania 37, at number 28 in the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble event and making it to the final three.
After the Rumble, the 52-year-old allegedly received a lot of fire backstage. Across the day, numerous ideas were revised, leaving many superstars unsure of what they were supposed to do or who they were supposed to eliminate as their number was called.
Former Plans for Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon was scheduled to be in the approaching Elimination Chamber match, as Ringside News originally revealed.
The WWE Championship will be defended by Bobby Lashley in this event later this month in Saudi Arabia, and Shane’s appearance was intended to set up a narrative involving him and Seth Rollins that would build to WrestleMania 38. Even more confounding, McMahon was expected to compete for the WWE Championship against the Architect Seth Rollins.
However, with the recent reports that have emerged, all the plans have been apparently dropped citing the heat on Shane O Mac.
Differences between Vince and Shane have made Vince ‘let go’ of his son from WWE

Shane McMahon has been ‘quietly let go’ from the promotion, according to many backstage sources lately validated by the names of Fightful and Meltzer, and Vince has used the term ‘let go’ explicitly. The writers were instructed in a ‘semi-quiet way’ that there would be no more intellectual debates about Shane McMahon, and they have now shifted to other creative discussions, according to a senior member of the WWE creative team.
Wade Keller from PW Torch was aware of the entire situation and has made a detailed statement regarding what exactly happened between the father-son duo. Here’s what he had to say:
So when it came time to put someone over, Shane was willing to put over Brock Lesnar,” Keller said. “But the issue with Shane really got to the next level with Vince when it came to what was planned for Raw and that Shane had real problems with how he was going to be framed as he was going to be in the Elimination Chamber.
“And so, Shane disagreed with what Vince wanted to do and how he wanted to do it. It was laid out to Shane what the plans were and he did like it, and he pushed back and that led to Vince just finally having enough and cancelling all plans with Shane, everything that they have planned with him,” Keller finished.
In the span of a few days, McMahon went from competing in the Elimination Chamber and a championship contest at WrestleMania to being ‘quietly’ fired from the organisation, all presumably due to his handling of the Men’s Royal Rumble event. Is Shane McMahon done with WWE or does he have some business left, and will Vince allow Shane to take over again, we’ll find out in a span of a few days.
