“Medical Concerns”, Update over why Rey Mysterio missed this week’s Monday Night Raw

Rey Mysterio, schooled in the well glorified Lucha libre style of wrestling, weighs 70 kgs and stands only at 5-foot-6. The legendary luchador has won accolades larger than his size and is the 21st triple crown champion in WWE, by winning the WWE Championship (1 Time) WWE World Heavyweight Championship (2 times), WWE Intercontinental Championship (Two Times), the WWE Tag team titles (4 times) and the cruiserweight title three times.
Being a highflyer, putting his body on the line is a routine for the Rey Mysterioa. In a report by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the Master of 619 faced some medical issues, thus explaining the reason for his absence from this week’s Raw tapings. Meltzer could not reveal the medical issues faced by the luchador, so it’s not clear when Rey will be back. He noted that the issue can’t be as serious as WWE can book Rey vs Veer in a week or so.
This is not the first time Rey Mysterio has been injured
According to Meltzer:
“Yeah, he has a medical issue. It’s not false advertising or they changed their mind. It was that he was unavailable tonight. So, they put Dominick in the place and got destroyed.”
Replacing his legendary luchador father in a match against ‘The Lion’ Veer Mahan in this week’s RAW, Dominic got squashed by Veer in a matter of minutes. Dominic, who is a potential future mega star of the company given his bloodline, was defeated after a modified camel clutch submission move. Later Dominick was stretchered out of the arena, after he was attacked by Veer post his one on one loss.
As Rey was being advertised for this week’s RAW ahead of time, WWE didn’t change its original plan of a wrestling match between Veer and the Luchador and Its yet to be seen what WWE’s plan are for the feud involving the three stars after Rey’s medical issue. But most likely they’re going to continue the storyline where Veer and Rey face each other at Wrestlemania Backlash with an added story of Veer injuring Dominic Mysterio.
