“I’m inspired”: John Cena sends a heartful message to Indian actor
Cena and Rana Daggubati
John Cena is one of the biggest names to have emerged from WWE. He had kicked off his career as a bodybuilder. But he soon switched to professional wrestling and was signed by WWE (then known as WWF) in 2001. Cena immediately struck a chord with the WWE Universe in his trash-talking rapper gimmick.
In a couple of years, he even made his Hollywood debut with The Marine, produced by WWE Studios. With the promotion of this movie, the rapper character faded away – and the Leader of Cenation debuted a gimmick which paid a homage to the military. As his popularity grew, the company decided to present him as the face of the company.
For nearly a decade, John Cena was pushed as the face of WWE. During this period, he portayed a character of a perfect-Superman like character – who would always stand up and fight for the right thing. Interestingly, Cena’s life too has been about standing up for self – and the same story is being covered by Sony Sports Network.
Sony Sports Network is currently working on a presentation of John Cena’s journey to super-stardom – in a series titled WWE ke Superstars and hosted by Indian actor Rana Daggubati. The actor put out a tweet mentioning how much he enjoyed working on the special presentation. The 16-time WWE World Champion put out a heartfelt tweet in response to the same.
“Wow. Thank YOU for this!! I’m inspired by those such as yourself who continue to inspire people across the globe!! #NeverGiveUp is a message for everyone, everywhere!!”- tweeted John Cena.
John Cena had a massive 2021
In 2021, John Cena made his return to WWE at Money in the Bank. He spent an entire month in a feud against Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The rivalry concluded at Summerslam – with the Tribal Chief managing to retain the title. The Leader of Cenation was also seen in two major blockbuster roles.
Cena was seen as Jakob Toretto in F9 and as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad. The fans loved his role so much that he went on to headline his own TV series – Peacemaker in 2022. In fact, the show was recently renewed for its second season.
