“A real tough balancing act”: John Cena reacts to Peacemaker season renewal

John Cena is one of the most popular personalities in the world. He is the most successful Superstar on the roster today. Cena has won 16-World Championships in WWE – which is an all time record that he jointly holds with Ric Flair. He has been with the company since 2001 and easily one of the best of all times.
While now he makes sporadic appearances for the company, fans have seen him in different avatars over the years. His Doctor of Thuganomics catapulted him to fame, it was his Leader of Ceantion gimmick that made him one of the most loved WWE Superstars of all time. But he soon moved to pursue a career in Hollywood.
After delivering some massive movies, John Cena jumped on the bandwagon of the superhero genre. He got the opportunity play the role of DC character – Peacemaker in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. The fans loved his character so much that his own TV series was immediately greenlit by the studios.
The season finale of Peacemaker, which is the first TV series in the DC Extended Universe, was recently released. Seeing the rave reviews that the series generated from the fans the studio even greenlit the series for a second season. He recently appeared for an interview with People where he reacted to success of the first season.
“It’s a tremendous feeling. Any time you make something for the purpose of the entertainment of others, a lot of times, it’s a real tough balancing act. A lot of folks enjoy it and we got the traction we did on HBO Max and we get the audience we did, especially with social interaction, we had with Peacemaker, and that’s a really good feeling,” mentioned the Leader of Cenation.
John Cena didn’t believe he could play Peacemaker
The Leader of Cenation got a chance to don the Superhero costume for James Gunn’s movie. When he appeared on Podly: The Peacemaker Podcast, Cena revealed that he did not think that he would get a chance to play the character again. But his series was immediately greenlit after the movie. ‘
“We saw a little bit of debut of a man who will keep peace at any cost in The Suicide Squad and I guess James Gunn thought that there was a story to be told around that ethos, and around the character. And, I thought The Suicide Squad would be the last time we saw Peacemaker, but here he is back in Peacemaker the series,” mentioned John Cena.
