In the initial years, Cena’s acting career was quite stagnant. But 2021 turned out to be a blockbuster year for him. He was seen in, not one but two massive franchisee movies – The Suicide Squad & Fast and Furious 9. The appearance in the James Gunn directorial also marked Cena’s entrance into the world of comicbook movies.

John Cena played the role of Peacemaker in the movie – a character willing to go to any lengths for peace. The fans immensely loved the character. It didn’t take the studio long to greenlight a television series – headlined by the Leader of Cenation. This was also the first ever series in the DC Extended Universe.

Earlier last month, Peacemaker series started airing on HBO Max. The season finale recently aired and apparently it brought in record breaking numbers for the streaming giant. John Cena took to Twitter to reveal that the finale recorded the biggest single day performance for a Max Original series.

Undoubtedly, 2021 was quite a busy year for the Leader of Cenation. But he made it quite clear that he immensely loves WWE. He got a month off from his Hollywood commitments and he decided to return to WWE for a month long stint.

John Cena made his shocking return to the company in the final moments of Money in the Bank and kicked off a month long feud against the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. They feuded for nearly a month – which was advertised as Summer of Cena. After delivering one of the best feuds of the year, Reigns managed to pin Cena.
