Besides a monumental legacy for some of the most epic storylines in professional wrestling, Jericho was well known for his moves as well, especially in WWE. One of his signature moves was known as the Code-Breaker where he would stick his knee to the opponent’s face and go down to the ground hitting the impact of the ground and knee directly on the face. His other signature move, and the more famous one, was a submission move by the name of “Walls of Jericho” which was a variation of the “Boston Crab,” one of the most widely used submission moves in all of professional wrestling.

It was cold November of 2017 when a local fight promotion by the name of FCC-Full Contact Contender conducted its 19th MMA event. A middleweight performance between Englishmen Jonno Mears and Aron Jones took off, and what happened that ended the fight, shocked the viewers.

Out of nowhere, Mears pulls Jones’ legs while having a sorta ‘reverse back control’ over the latter and places the feet under his armpit to stretch out a full-fledged “Walls of Jericho.” For those who think no one can get hurt by the WWE move, ask Jones what was the pain like to be under the impression of the great Jericho’s signature move. Mears won the fight via a first of its kind submission in MMA history, watch the clip uploaded by Barstool Sports on Twitter.

Mears last fought in February of 2020, his overall MMA record is 4 wins and 2 losses. What do you make of this surprisingly unique ending to this fight? Where do you put Jericho in the all-time great list of professional wrestlers?
