3 possible reasons why AJ Styles attacked LA Knight on SmackDown

This week’s SmackDown took a shocking turn when the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles, returned to WWE after almost three months. The latter was taken out of the program after he was attacked by the Bloodline. Styles made a fabulous comeback when he attacked the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.

However, Styles’ attacks didn’t come to an end even after taking Reigns out. He surprisingly took the opportunity to deliver a vicious clothesline to the LA Knight. This shot left Randy Orton startled, along with the fans. Although AJ has not broken his silence on his attack on the Megastar. Here are the three possible reasons for AJ Styles to attack LA Knight on SmackDown.

3) Finally AJ Styles ditched the lackluster babyface turn

AJ Styles has been one of the most popular superstars in WWE. Although he is highly regarded among the fans, his babyface runs were nothing but lackluster. In his recent run, Styles was not on the card for the majority of the PLEs, which led to fans criticizing his booking. Therefore, his attack on LA Knight might lead to his heel turn.

Moreover, turning heel at this point might add another layer to his character. It will be interesting for the fans to see the Phenomenal One have some character development. On the other hand, Styles has achieved great success in his heel runs in WWE. It is going to be interesting to see the new touch of change for the Phenomenal One from here on out.

2) To kick off a feud with LA Knight heading to the Royal Rumble

LA Knight and AJ Styles have been intertwined with each other in the mix of having a shot at the Undisputed Title. Moreover, Knight was the one who replaced Styles at Fastlane as well. For AJ, Knight might be an obstacle between him and Roman Reigns. Therefore, taking LA out might very likely clear the way for him to take on Reigns.

Consequently, LA Knight and AJ Styles might face each other at the Royal Rumble. It can be a match to prove supremacy. To kick off a feud with Knight, Styles attacking him on SmackDown would have been a perfect opportunity. It is going to be interesting to see if WWE books the match between the two incredible superstars heading forward.

1) To make a way for Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton

Randy Orton has made it very clear since his arrival on SmackDown that he wants to have the Head of the Table at Royal Rumble. However, LA Knight’s rematch clause was a stumbling block for WWE to make the anticipated one-on-one match. Therefore, Styles attacking Knight might lead to the two stars getting into a singles feud while Randy is getting Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble.

Knight can have a rematch in the future as well. However, his getting at AJ Styles first makes sense after Styles’ attack this week on SmackDown. Roman and Orton are a long-awaited match-up. Hence, WWE is not looking to add any other superstar to the mix.
