The WWE Hall of Fame class of 2024 is close and fans are still waiting for the announcement of the first inductee. The Stamford-based company honors its legends by hosting a ceremony that tributes their contributions to WWE. However, fans have been slightly concerned and confused about zero announcement of an inductee till now.
Last year’s first inductee was Rey Mysterio on March 10 of the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2023. Along with the Lucha legend, the late Andy Kaufman, Stacy Kiebler, Warrior Award recipient, Tim White, and finally, The Great Muta.
The Hall of Fame 2023 witnessed one of the most viral moments. When Rey was giving an emotional speech, Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley showed disrespect to Mysterio and left the ceremony ahead of their match at WrestleMania. The Lucha legend finally got his revenge when he defeated his son. Here are three potential reasons why WWE has not announced any inductees for Hall of Fame 2024 yet:
WWE wants to keep it as a surprise
One of the prime reasons that they haven’t announced any of the Hall of Fame inductees could just be a surprise. WWE could surprise wrestling fans with this year’s inductees. There are no signs of any superstars being inducted yet, but there are some popular choices.
WWE could announce the inductees just before the Hall of Fame ceremony to intensify the hype among the fans. After The Undertaker in 2022 and Mysterio in 2023, wrestling fans are already speculating who could be the marquee pick that will headline the class of 2024.
Potentially figuring out Dave Bautista’s schedule
Another possible reason could be WWE legend Dave Bautista‘s scheduling issues. The Animal has now fully shifted focus towards the Hollywood industry and follows a very tight schedule. Once WWE figures figure out his schedule, he can headline the class of 2024.
Batista’s new movie, Dune 2 was just released, and he was recently seen at the movie premiere. He was originally inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2020, but due to COVID-19, it got canceled. Fans are hoping that this time Dave Bautista gets his well-deserved Hall of Fame status.
WWE’s new approach to introduce the inductees in late March
The final reason could be the Stamford-based company’s approach to announcing the Hall of Fame inductees by the middle of March. Last year, WWE announced their first Hall of Fame inductee on March 10, so this time they could do the same by announcing the first inductee, possibly next week.
The Hall of Fame ceremony will be after the go-home episode of SmackDown, just like last time. Fans are excited to see which superstars will carve their names in the history of the WWE. The WrestleMania week can’t come early, concluding after a two-night event on April 6th and 7th.
