In February of this year on RAW, Edge issued an open challenge for WrestleMania 38. Styles would then accept Edge’s challenge, but Edge said that he preferred the version of Styles who had been a WWE Champion not the one who had been a tag team partner of Omos. Edge then turned heel when he attacked AJ and performed two con-chair-tos on the Phenomenal one.

At the event, Edge won over Styles due to the interference from Damien Priest. As Styles attempted to deliver the Phenomenal Forearm, he was distracted by Priest and thereafter edge took the advantage of the situation and speared AJ to win the match. This also marked the formation of Judgment Day faction. A rematch was scheduled at WrestleMania Backlash, which was also lost by AJ due to the interference by Rhea Ripley, who was unveiled as a member of the Judgment Day. Edge would himself be thrown out of the faction after the Hell in a Cell event.

AJ Styles recently gave an interview to Alex McCarthy of inside the ropes, where he expressed his desire to face Edge once again. Styles said that the WrestleMania match was great and that he hopes to get an opportunity once again. Styles said that he was very happy and is sure that Edge too was happy with the match.

“I thought it was good we had a great match and I would hope that maybe we’ll get the opportunity to do it again, but I was very happy with it and I’m sure he was too. I hadn’t heard anything at the time when I, you know, as I got speared. So, I was a happy camper.”

AJ Styles defeated The Miz on this week’s RAW in a No Disqualification Match.
